Program Description:  As we care for patients in our health care, prison or first responding institutions, we know the affect crisis has on their ability to be hopeful about the future. In this session we explore the meaning of hope from both a medical and spiritual perspective, from that of an Oncologist and a Chaplain as they have collaborated on a Palliative Care team for 5 years.

Discover the effects of true hope on the mind/body connection.

Understand the value of having a healthy future story that fosters hope.

Understanding the diminishing effects of a dysfunctional future story that leads to despair.

Interventions that help patients/clients/residents envision a meaningful future story.

Understand similarities and differences of a multi-disciplined approach to hopefulness.
